Candidacy for the Ordre national du Québec – 2027 appointments

Introduction

Any citizen may submit the candidacy of an outstanding person for appointment (or promotion) to one of the ranks of the Ordre national du Québec, provided that the candidate was born or resides in Québec and is not a member of the National Assembly.

The candidacy must be submitted by two individuals (a proposer and a seconder) or by a non-profit organization.

All candidacies are assessed by the Conseil de l’Ordre national, which then makes a recommendation to the Premier of Québec. The council is composed of nine members from various regions of the province, who are members of the order and have been elected to the council by the members as a whole.

Personal information

The personal information submitted is used by the Secrétariat of the Ordre national du Québec to produce the summary sheet for the assessment of each candidacy. The information is made available only to staff members of the Secrétariat in the performance of their duties and is used only to communicate with the candidates selected following the assessment process. The Secrétariat may contact the proposer or seconder for a candidacy if there is a problem with the form or if it needs assistance in contacting the candidate once selected.

As the proposer, you must provide at least a telephone number and email address for yourself, the seconder and the candidate. Without this information the candidacy form will not be accepted or assessed.
